Teenager who inspired Kate dies
A teenager who inspired Kate, Princess of Wales, with her photography has died. Liz Hatton, 17, from Harrogate, died on Wednesday, her mother has confirmed. Liz was diagnosed with desmoplastic small round cell tumour, a rare and aggressive form of cancer, in January. Doctors gave her a prognosis of just months to live.
But despite her illness, Liz continued to live her life to the full. She continued to take photographs and even met Kate, who has a keen interest in photography, at Windsor Castle in October.
Liz's death has been met with sadness by her family, friends and the wider community. She was a talented photographer and an inspiration to many.
A statement from Kensington Palace said: "The Prince and Princess of Wales are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Liz Hatton. Her passion for photography and her joyful spirit were an inspiration to so many. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time."
Liz's passing is a reminder that life is precious and that we should never take anything for granted. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
