Tennessee vs Purdue
For the first time since 2007, the Tennessee Volunteers and Purdue Boilermakers will square off on the gridiron Saturday at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee. Tennessee, which enters the season ranked No. 20 in the AP Poll, is coming off a 7-6 record in 2022 that included a 45-21 loss to Clemson in the Orange Bowl. Purdue, meanwhile, finished 9-4 last season and is looking to build on that success in 2023.
The Boilermakers are led by Aidan O'Connell, one of the most experienced quarterbacks in the country. O'Connell has thrown for over 8,000 yards and 80 touchdowns in his career. He will be looking to connect with a talented group of receivers, led by Charlie Jones and TJ Sheffield.
On the defensive side of the ball, Purdue is led by defensive end George Karlaftis, who is considered one of the best pass rushers in the country. Karlaftis had 10 sacks last season and will be looking to put pressure on Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker.
The Volunteers are led by Hooker, who is coming off a breakout season in 2022. Hooker threw for over 3,500 yards and 36 touchdowns last season and led Tennessee to a 7-0 start. Hooker will be looking to build on that success in 2023 and lead the Volunteers to a 10-win season.
On the defensive side of the ball, Tennessee is led by cornerback Warren Burrell, who is one of the best cover corners in the country. Burrell had six interceptions last season and will be looking to lead the Volunteers to a top-10 defense in 2023.
The game between Tennessee and Purdue is expected to be a close one. Both teams have talented players on both sides of the ball. The game could come down to who makes the most plays in the關鍵moments.
