The Disastrous Day I Tried to Cook Breakfast for My Boyfriend

By Laura Saunders

Have you ever had one of those mornings where everything seems to go wrong? Well, I recently had one of those mornings, and it all started when I decided to cook breakfast for my boyfriend.
I'm not the best cook in the world, but I thought I could handle making some scrambled eggs and toast. I mean, how hard could it be? Right?
Well, apparently, it's a lot harder than I thought. I started by cracking the eggs into a bowl, but I accidentally dropped one on the floor. Then, when I tried to whisk the eggs, I splashed some on my shirt. I finally got the eggs in the pan, but they immediately started to stick. I tried to flip them, but they ended up breaking into a million pieces.
By this point, I was starting to get a little frustrated. I had already made a mess of the kitchen, and my boyfriend was still sleeping soundly in bed. I decided to try making toast, thinking that it couldn't be any harder than eggs. But of course, I was wrong.
I put the bread in the toaster, but I forgot to set the timer. When I finally remembered, the toast was burnt to a crisp. I sighed and threw it away.
At this point, I was about ready to give up. I had managed to make a complete mess of breakfast, and I hadn't even managed to wake up my boyfriend yet. But then, I had an idea.
I decided to make him a smoothie instead. I grabbed some fruit and yogurt from the fridge and put them in the blender. I hit the "smoothie" button, and a few seconds later, I had a delicious, refreshing smoothie.
I poured the smoothie into a glass and brought it to my boyfriend in bed. He woke up with a smile on his face and took a sip.

"This is delicious," he said. "Thank you, honey."
I smiled back at him and said, "You're welcome. I'm just glad you like it."
As we sat there and enjoyed our breakfast, I couldn't help but laugh at the disaster that had just unfolded in the kitchen. But in the end, it didn't really matter. I had made my boyfriend a delicious breakfast, and that's all that mattered.
So, if you're ever having one of those mornings where everything seems to go wrong, don't worry. Just remember that there's always a way to turn things around. And if all else fails, you can always make a smoothie.
