The Nibble Games
It was an average day, the kids were at school, and their parents were working away. They were working on a assignment, when mysteriously the floor shook. You could see the concern on the children’s faces as they had an idea to what caused the disturbance. As they looked out the window they could see puffs of smoke rising from the opening in the ground from the coalmine. The kids continued to have a weary look on their face as they feared for their family sake. They felt another wave of nuclear energy coming from the mine. Katnis soon learned that her father was killed in the explosion.
11 years later Katniss was out hunting. While waiting for Gale, she spotted a deer. She quickly prepared her bow and arrow and aimed right between its eyes. The mechanical energy store in the bow and arrow awaited its release. When released the kinetic energy let it soar and hit the deer right in the middle of its eyes.
A month later Katniss is alone in the games. It is night so it is dark and cold. Katnis prepares fire using thermal energy to heat it up. Her heart was full of constant fear that a human predator was near, awaiting on the perfect moment to strike her. The chemical-energy-based fire was bright and ferocious, yet it was mysteriously hiding to prevent revealing her disguise. The food around her was very appetizing, with the potential-chemical energy of giving off energy to her body.
Suddenly, there was a loud scream coming probably from the other end of the arena. Katniss jumped to her senses, quickly reacting to the shriek. Her head flew to the direction the sound came from, taking in what had just happened. She saw smoke rising from above the tree lines, giving the hint that someone else had created a fire, too, and their disguise had been blown. Reacting to the sudden outburst of terror, she quickly put out her burning fire and ran to the trees for shelter. She rapidly climbed the tree in escape, protecting herself if any predator were near.
There were rustles in the leaves below the trees. Her breathing slowed down hastily in a sense of protection, leaving no sound for the opponents below to hear. A boy came into sight, running swiftly through the leaves on the group, but loud enough for an average person to hear feet away. He was running quickly, when suddenly his trail in front of him was brought to a stop by the air, or so she thought.
