This Child's Nightly Routine Will Make You Want to Have Kids

By Nesa Ghorpade

As a loving and devoted mother, I've discovered a bedtime routine that not only lulls my little ones to sleep but also fosters a profound bond of love, learning, and laughter.

Every night, as the sun dips below the horizon, our home transforms into a magical realm of stories, songs, and cuddles. Nesa, my precious three-year-old, grabs her favorite book, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. We snuggle up in her cozy bed, and I begin to weave enchanting tales of faraway lands, valiant knights, and twinkling stars.

Her laughter fills the air as we act out the adventuresome scenes, Nesa embodying pirates and dragons with the utmost conviction. Her imagination soars, and her eyes dance with the joy only childhood can bring.

As the story draws to a close, I shift to our nightly sing-along. Nesa's favorite is "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star," and her sweet soprano voice fills the room with melody. She reaches out her tiny hands, tracing the constellations in the air, her eyes wide with wonder.

Through our bedtime routine, I've witnessed the profound power of music to soothe and inspire. Nesa's mind becomes tranquil as she sings, her worries melting away with each note.

After our musical interlude, it's time for a gentle massage. I slowly massage her little feet and legs, releasing any lingering tension from the day's adventures. Nesa closes her eyes, a contented smile spread across her face.

As I tuck her in, I whisper sweet nothings into her ear: how much I love her, how proud I am of her, and how grateful I am to be her mother.

I kiss her forehead and switch off the bedside lamp, bathing her room in a soft, comforting glow. As I watch Nesa drift into slumber, I can't help but feel a profound sense of purpose and fulfillment.

Our bedtime routine is more than just a way to get Nesa to sleep. It's a sacred ritual that strengthens our unbreakable bond, fosters her imagination, and nurtures her emotional well-being. It's a reminder that even in the hustle and bustle of life, it's the little moments that truly matter.

So, as you tuck your little ones into bed tonight, take a moment to create your own special bedtime routine—one filled with love, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Sweet dreams, little ones!

P.S. If you're looking for more bedtime inspiration, here are a few of Nesa's favorite books:
