The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings are a set of annual university rankings by subject, published by Times Higher Education (THE). They are the only global university rankings to judge research-intensive universities across all of their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

The rankings are based on 13 performance indicators, grouped into five categories:

  • Research (volume, income and reputation)
  • Citations (research influence)
  • International outlook (staff, students and research)
