The leader of the German Olympic Sports Federation, Alfons Hoermann, said at a question and answer session on Saturday that "the global principles need an earnest update," as per an interpretation by The Guardian.

While some required an upgrade, Klaus Schormann, the supervisor of International Modern Pentathlon Union, on Friday protected the ponies in question and hit back at reactions of the occasion.
