Booger McFarland was not an enthusiast of Justin Fields remarks after his first preseason game.
Fields, who finished 14 of 20 passes for 142 yards with two scores in Chicago's 20-13 triumph over the Miami Dolphins, said after his presentation, "It was in reality sort of delayed to me, frankly."
Fields added that he felt "agreeable out there."
"I think I was anticipating that it should be somewhat quicker yet rehearsing game speed, grinding away with my colleagues each day, obviously, you know, we have an extraordinary protection in this way, me conflicting with them consistently, it unquestionably eased back the game up a smidgen for me," Fields said.
Showing up on ESPN's NFL Live, McFarland conjured a familiar adage his mom used to say to him.
"Try not to allow your mouth to compose a check, that your butt can't cash," he said.
Fields' first score was a 8-yard run into the endzone, and he followed that up with a 30-yard score pass to tight end Jesse James.
"My outlook was simply to go out there, regardless occurred, simply play for now and sort of attempt to behave like it was my keep going time on the field and simply pursue each open door and take advantage of it," Fields closed.
