Attack: Former Tour de France champion Bradley Wiggins uncovered he was physically prepared by a mentor when he was 13 years of age.
The five-time Olympic hero made the claim in a meeting with Men's Health UK magazine. He didn't distinguish the mentor.
"I was prepared by a mentor when I was more youthful - I was around 13 - and I never completely acknowledged that," said the 41-year-old Wiggins, who won the Tour in 2012 and resigned four years after the fact.
Inquired as to whether he was prepared physically, Wiggins said: "OK. Everything affected me as a grown-up … I covered it," avoiding the chance stand up at the time due to a troublesome relationship with his stepfather.
Wiggins has recently spoken about his experience growing up, which incorporated his dad leaving the family. His dad was Australian cyclist Gary Wiggins, who passed on in 2008 following a battle at a local party.
