Iowa State soccer has one final opportunity to end its spring effort undefeated against Northern Iowa on Friday.
The Cyclones were top notch through their initial three spring game and haven't surrendered a solitary objective. After a 0-0 tie against Western Illinois and a 1-0 win against Drake, the Cyclones went on with a 3-0 win against Grand View the week before.
"We've ruled the games in a manner that is clearly truly satisfying," Iowa State lead trainer Matt Fannon said.
This control, particularly against Grand View, has been apparent all through the spring. The training staff saw that Grand View had the ball in the Cyclones' half for roughly 40 seconds in a game that approached 70 minutes.
Junior midfielder Mira Emma said a fruitful spring sets them up for an effective season in the fall.
"Matt [Fannon] has placed in a strong groundwork of how we need to play and we're appreciative for that," Emma said. "I thoroughly consider it's most certainly going to convey into the fall driving into Big 12 games."
Fannon said the opposition this end of the week will be stiffer, yet he anticipates that his group should be up for that.
He said the group's objective for the match against the Panthers is to try to stamp its clout on the game in the manner they have done it in the other spring games.
Senior goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz said the group has really buckled down for their progress by and by as well as in the film breakdown of their past games.
"We have a saying here: Every day is down day," Silkowitz said. "I'm really invigorated. Simply really appreciative to get to play every single day and end the spring with a bang."
Albeit the spring effort has been a triumph up to this point, the group settles on one shaky area of their game.
"Wrapping up. Getting done with, scoring more objectives, executing in the last third," Emma said. "We've made a greater number of chances than we at any point have in the past yet pushing ahead, completing those possibilities that we have."
The Cyclones' match against Northern Iowa is set to start off at 8 p.M. Friday in Cedar Falls.
