Three was the enchanted number for Cold Spring Harbor Friday evening at Adelphi.

Ava Tighe, Amelia Bentley and Kelly Callaghan each scored three objectives as No. 1 Cold Spring Harbor crushed No. 2 Carle Place, 14-1, to secure its second back to back Nassau Class D young ladies lacrosse title.

"Ball development is so significant," Tighe said. "We had the option to have these full go-arounds today in light of the fact that the remainder of our group moved forward and moved the ball so well."

The senior and Florida-commit won attracts to keep the Seahawks on the assault and lay out an early lead. Tighe scored her most memorable objective on a free position shot with 23:36 leftover in the primary half and Callaghan followed with two straight objectives.

"We have an incredible group dynamic," said Callaghan, a first year recruit. "We are in general companions and we can push each other without putting anybody in an awful mood."

Bentley followed with her most memorable objective to put Cold Spring Harbor ahead 5-0 after a little more than four minutes of play.

The Seahawks drove 9-0 preceding Paige Selhorn scored with 5:51 left in the primary half for Carle Place (8-8).

"We were eager to get out there," mentor Danielle Castellane said. "We've been playing our best lacrosse since the postseason started and we needed to emerge from the doors with the gas pedal down."

While Cold Spring Harbor kept up with ownership for the greater part of the game, Carle Place couldn't profit by its possibilities, as first year recruit goalie Maya Soskin made 14 recoveries.

The ruling Long Island Class D winners will confront Center Moriches in a rematch of last year's title game at Stony Brook University Sunday, June 5, at 6 p.M.

"Playing at Stony Brook is a higher step up," Bentley said. "This is an encounter that you can't remember."

Cold Spring Harbor (9-8) didn't be able to go to the NYSPHSAA competition after last year's LIC, however the Seahawks are ravenous to create this open door count.

"It's a similar objective consistently," Tighe said. "Area title, Long Island title and a definitive objective is getting on that transport and going to the state competition."
