Wiregrass Teams Move Up In AHSAA Spring Sports Realignment
DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The AHSAA delivering new spring sports arrangements and moving around a portion of Dothan's fruitful projects.
Groups are moved in order due to the AHSAA's Competitive Balance Factor that surveys focuses procured by a game in a group's general completion every year over the two years of an ongoing characterization arrangement.
Provision Christian and Houston Academy both have groups climbing from Class 3A to Class 4A due to their new achievement.
The Eagles olympic style sports groups climbed to Class 4A after the young ladies group brought home the state championship in 2021 and completed fourth this year.
The young men group came in fourth and ninth this last season.
Lead trainer Cliff Carter expresses climbing will be quite difficult for his groups since they'll have a lot more modest class sizes than their rivals.
"You don't get as numerous awful days at training," Carter said. "You don't get as numerous chances to stagger and fall and that is fine. Those are chances to learn, to improve, to consider each other responsible consistently."
