Arizona Coyotes forward Bokondji Imama joined Soul on Ice: The Podcast to discuss the difficulties of an ethnic minority in hockey.

Imama played in four games last season for Arizona, scoring one objective on three shots and recorded five punishment minutes. His most memorable vocation objective.

The 25-year-old joined has Kwame Mason and Jordan Buhat on Tuesday to examine the awkward minutes in the NHL and how he battles it intellectually consistently.

"Totally, totally hockey has made me awkward commonly. Until the present time," Imama said. "I need to track down better approaches to make myself agreeable in this hockey culture that we love to say is minutely white."

"There are things that occur en route however it's about my development as well. I'm glad to develop consistently, consistently and attempt to make it an endlessly better spot."

Imama said his folks were brought into the world in the Democratic Republic of Congo however moved to Montreal where he and his four sisters were conceived. He is in two more established and more youthful sisters.

He said he played five distinct games growing up however realize that hockey was the best one for him.

"It goes way some time ago," Imama said. "I went to that multitude of competitions and hockey generally had that cutthroat, different feel to it. It was the second I put on those skates, I adored it."
