Orlov Scores Late, Caps Beat Hurricanes For ninth Win In 11

Samsonov, whose record improved to 9-0-1, played in his third sequential game interestingly this season. There was a lot to keep him occupied. 

"In a major event, in a major circumstance, as well," Capitals mentor Peter Laviolette said. "There were some large saves that (Samsonov) made out there."

There are players from the two groups who were on the programs for Carolina's 2019 first-round season finisher upset of the Capitals in seven games. 

"There's two groups that contend hard," Hurricanes focus Sebastian Aho said. "High expertise the two different ways. A tad of history there, so great, high-exceptional matches."
