Bettina Brokemper of Cologne-based Heimatfilm, the German co-maker of Lars von Trier films including "Despondency" and "Antichrist," has boarded "Blackbird Blackberry," the third element from rising Georgian movie producer Elene Naveriani, which was chosen for the Rotterdam Film Festival's CineMart co-creation market.

In light of the novel by Georgian creator and women's activist lobbyist Tamta Melashili, the film recounts the tale of a solitary lady in her late 40s trapped in a little, in reverse looking town who finds love interestingly.

Naveriani, who coordinated the Rotterdam debut "I'm Truly a Drop of Sun on Earth" and the Locarno prize champ "Wet Sand," let Variety know that when she previously read Melashili's original she "envisioned how strong it is see this story on the screen, how enabling and dubious."

"The primary person of the story, Etero, is a women's activist in her own particular manner - without acknowledging it," she said.
