City, Area Sports: Tiger Tennis Team Trounces Lufkin, 13-1
HALLSVILLE, Texas - Texas High overwhelmed Lufkin, 13-1, in the bi-region round of the Class 5A group tennis end of the season games Tuesday on Hallsville's courts.

Texas High advances to play Midlothian nearby round of the end of the season games on Thursday. Midlothian crushed Forney, 10-2, in its bi-region match.
The Tigers were prevailing on the young ladies side, winning the best four singles matches and the main three pairs matches.
Lakyn Austin won young ladies No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-2; trailed by No. 2 Marlee Bledsoe 6-0, 6-0, No. 3 Maddy Bixler 6-0, 6-0, and negative. 4 Katherine Sandefur 6-0, 6-0.
In young ladies duplicates, THS cleared the main three: Bledsoe/Bixler won 6-0, 6-0, Austin/Sandefur 6-2, 6-0, and Wilson/Floyd 6-0, 6-0.
No. 1 James Thomson and negative. 4 Jonathan Gass won their sections. Thomson won, 6-2, 6-2, and Gass won 6-0, 6-0.
The Tigers won the best three young men copies match: 1. Soyars/Thomson 6-3, 6-4, 2. Gass/Shuffield 6-0, 6-3, and 3. McCarter/Baird 6-2, 6-2.
Texas High likewise took the top blended copies, with Suelzer/Mitchell winning 6-0, 6-0.
Pendergraft falls in state
LITTLE ROCK - Arkansas High's Garrett Pendergraft progressed to the Round of 16 preceding tumbling to a Little Rock Christian player in straight sets.
Pendergraft was 6-1 this season in singles and qualified for the Class 5A state competition by completing fourth in the 5A-South Conference competition.
The Razorbacks tied for second in the gathering standings.

Sovereign CITY, Texas - Queen City's eighth-grade volleyball crew crushed Atlanta, 25-16, 25-2, in center school volleyball activity Monday.
Makayla Jackson drove the victors with 21 focuses in succession, and Dori Sasser contributed 6 focuses.
The Rabbs won the 7th grade "A" match, 25-17, 12-25, 15-8. Mallory Hamilton scored 11 focuses for Queen City and River Holcomb added 5.
The Bulldogs won the 7th grade "B" match, 25-7, 12-7. Anna Young scored 12 focuses for Queen City and Kaylin Griffin added 5.
