As the development of virtual reality continues, more opportunities for the training of operators will become available. One of these choices is the MEWP training simulator developed by Serious Labs. This simulator can currently certify operators following ANSI and ISO standards. Sandvik has confirmed this week that its mobile crushers and screeners can run with HVO suppliers fuels. This news was announced earlier this week. Hilti has added additional functionality to the semi-autonomous Jaibot drilling robot that the business manufactures. In addition, Kubota Canada announced the appointment of a new company president, and a Rokbak articulated hauler was instrumental in ensuring that a groundworks project remained on schedule. Here is a selection of five stories published this week that you won't want to overlook.
HVO, or hydro-processed vegetable oil, is a type of sustainable synthetic diesel that is made by hydro-processing approved waste fats and oils.
Mobile crushers and screeners manufactured by Sandvik are now capable of running on HVO fuels.
Sandvik has completed testing on its whole lineup of equipment to validate that its mobile crushers and screeners are capable of running on HVO fuel cost even though neither the engines nor the fuel tanks have been modified in any way for this purpose. When compared to traditional diesel, this enables customers of Sandvik products to achieve net reductions in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of up to 90 per cent. Sandvik decided to invest in HVO as a renewable fuel, and the company contacted Cat distributor Finning U.K. and Ireland to get appropriate engines, such as Caterpillar's C-Series engines.
The RA30, which is typically used in conjunction with Browning Excavation's Volvo EC350E crawler excavator, has the potential to be refilled up to fifty times in a single day.
The Rokbak articulated transporter ensures that the groundworks project for Browning Excavation stays on schedule.
When groundworks for a major housing project in Virginia brought up acres of overflow from the Blue Ridge Mountains, Browning Excavation was forced to move swiftly to address the issue. Browning Excavation needed a machine to transport all of the excess granite material, so they went to a nearby Rokbak dealer to fulfil this requirement. They rented an RA30 articulated hauler and made the necessary arrangements. Even though there are still 375 home foundations to dig, the transporter has already racked up more than 500 hours of operational time.
The virtual reality training simulator developed by Serious Labs may certify operators of MEWPs.
The ANSI Compliant Assessment Scenario from Serious Labs is now a virtual reality operator training simulator that complies with both ANSI and ISO standards. It is designed for use with articulated and telescopic boom lifts. It is no longer necessary for operators who test on the Serious Labs ANSI Compliant Assessment Scenario to operate physical equipment to complete their training. This change came about as a result of feedback from customers. When an operator demonstrates adequate levels of skill, ability, and awareness to qualify for certification by passing the Serious Labs ANSI Compliant Assessment Scenario with a minimum of 80 percent proficiency, they will be awarded the certification.
The upgraded semi-autonomous robot from Hilti allows for drilling on corrugated metal deck ceilings as well as concrete walls.
New capabilities have been added to the Hilti Jaibot, a semi-autonomous mobile drilling robot. These capabilities were disclosed by Hilti Group. The Jaibot now has the potential to drill into concrete walls and ceilings, in addition to corrugated metal deck ceilings. Additionally, the robot includes several additional features that make it easier to use, safer for the operator, and more accurate. The Jaibot from Hilti is capable of drilling and marking holes in vertical concrete walls at heights ranging from 0.9 to 4.8 metres in height.
