UK election 2024: It's not too late! Here's how to still have your say




The UK election is just around the corner, but don't worry, there's still time to have your say! Here's how to make sure your voice is heard on May 2nd.

Polling Stations


On the day of the election, polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm. Bring your polling card and a form of ID (a passport, driving licence, or utility bill) and you'll be able to cast your vote.

Postal Vote


  • If you're going to be away on election day, you can apply to vote by post.
  • You can apply for a postal vote online or by filling in a paper form.
  • The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on 26th April 2024.
  • Proxy Vote


  • If you're unable to vote in person or by post, you can appoint someone you trust to vote on your behalf.

  • Who can vote?


  • To vote in the UK election, you must be:
  • 18 years old or over on the day of the election.
  • A British citizen, an Irish citizen, or a Commonwealth citizen.
  • Registered to vote.

    The deadline to register to vote is Monday 17th April 2024.

    How do I know if I'm registered to vote?


    You can check if you're registered to vote online or by calling your local Electoral Registration Office.

    What if I'm not registered to vote?


    If you're not registered to vote, you can register online or by filling in a paper form.

    What happens if I don't vote?


    If you don't vote, you're not helping to decide who represents you in Parliament. You're also not helping to make sure that your voice is heard on important issues.
