Urvil Patel




Urvil Patel is an Indian cricketer. He made his Twenty20 debut for Baroda in the 2017–18 Zonal T20 League on 7 January 2018. He made his List A debut for Baroda in the 2017–18 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 7 February 2018. Ahead of the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, he transferred from Baroda to Gujarat.
Patel is a right-handed batsman and a wicket-keeper.


He is known for his aggressive batting style and has scored some quick centuries in domestic cricket. He was the leading run-scorer for Gujarat in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, with 707 runs in 9 matches.


In the 2019–20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Patel scored a century off just 32 balls against Tripura. This was the fastest century by an Indian batsman in T20 cricket.


Patel's performances in domestic cricket have earned him a call-up to the India A team. He made his debut for India A against South Africa A in July 2022.

Personal life


Patel was born in Mehsana, Gujarat, on 17 October 1998. He is the son of Mukesh Patel and Bhavna Patel. He has two sisters, Urvi and Urvashi.


Patel started playing cricket at a young age. He represented Gujarat at various age-group levels before making his debut for the senior team in 2018.


Patel is a graduate of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree.


Playing style


Patel is an aggressive right-handed batsman. He is known for his attacking strokeplay and his ability to score runs at a fast pace.


As a wicket-keeper, Patel is safe and reliable. He has good hands and quick reflexes.
