Each if the scholarship students receives a certified Real Life Mentor for up to five years while in the Real Life program, a computer backpack, a laptop computer equipped with software, an annual scholarship of $1,000 for up to five years, and the opportunity to obtain a degree of his choice.
An eligible student of Real Life 101 must be accepted into a college/university, trade school, or an accredited higher education institution. They also have the freedom to decide where to take their degree of choice anywhere in the world. The organization is funded by private donors and corporations.
It would be the high school teachers and counselors who’ll choose the students who will be considered for the scholarships. A student must have quality content on the required 1,000-word essay in order to receive the scholarship. He or she must write and submit it to Real Life 101 and complete the online application. The topic of the essay is: “What will you personally do to improve the current negative statistics regarding African American males in America and abroad.”
