Victor Edozien of SET Enterprises orders LaserCoil Blanking System

LaserCoil Technologies LLC recently announced that it has received an order from SET Enterprises, Inc., a premier supplier of metal processing services to the automotive industry.

According to LaserCoil, SET ordered a coil-fed blanking system. It is a 2100mm-wide dual-head system with two 6kW lasers. The system is going to be installed at SET’s New Boston facility where the company processes blanks for the automotive industry.

Based on a review of Victor Edozien, the president and CEO of SET Enterprises, the solutions offered by LaserCoil will certainly give their company the ability to deliver excellent blank quality to their clients with all grades of advanced engineered materials.

Victor added that the capabilities of LaserCoil’s system, along with SET’s operating experience, could give their company the manufacturing agility and responsiveness to quickly achieve their clients’ most complex metal processing needs. This capability is also very important to any progressively dynamic automotive industry that is transitioning to support advanced high-strength steels and aluminum alloys.

The control system and laser blanking operating system of LaserCoil could also help SET to maximize their blanking efficiency. The company’s lines could deliver solutions to their clients in a fraction of the time required by traditional blanking.

One of the advantages of the software programming capabilities of LaserCoil is the ability to maximize raw material usage and reduce scrap. As automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) increase the use of aluminum and advanced high-strength steels, improving metal processing yields and reducing scrap are important matters.

Supported by various reviews of certain individuals, groups, and organizations from US, LaserCoil’s coil-fed cutting technology is exceptional. It features several patents that are based on years of dedicated research and successful production runs since 2012. Gantry-mounted laser heads stationed in multiple cutting cells travel along the moving strip to balance the workload for improved productivity. The system’s dynamic profile conveyor features adjustable lanes that support the coil strip while automatically repositioning as needed to clear a path for the laser cut. This feature also simplifies gravity-shedding of scrap and offal, delivering only totally finished blanks at the end of the process.

The coil-fed laser blanking system is a practical alternative in processing all kinds of coil material in aluminum, mild steel, high-strength steels and other sheet materials, in thickness from 0.5mm to 3.5mm and up to 2100mm wide coil at any length, because of its robust design that allows higher production rates than other laser cutting equipment.
