Waterford FC




Waterford FC is an Irish association football club based in Waterford City, County Waterford. The club was founded in 2016 following the dissolution of Waterford United. They play their home matches at the RSC, formerly known as the Waterford Regional Sports Centre.
The club has a rich history, having been founded in 1930 as Waterford United. They have won the League of Ireland Premier Division once, in 1965–66, and the FAI Cup twice, in 1937 and 1959. However, the club's fortunes declined in recent years, and they were relegated to the First Division in 2015.
In 2016, Waterford United was dissolved due to financial problems. A new club, Waterford FC, was founded to take its place. The new club was granted a place in the First Division for the 2016 season.
