What You Don’t Know About What You Don’t Know

Ignorance is not bliss, but it can be entertaining.
I'm not saying you should go out and do something stupid because you don't know any better.
But I'm also not saying you should be afraid of everything because you don't know what's going to happen.
The truth is, we all have a lot to learn.
And the best way to learn is to get out there and experience life.

I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine who was complaining about how she never had any free time.
She worked all day, came home, and then spent her evenings cooking, cleaning, and taking care of her kids.
She said she felt like she was always running around, and she never had time to relax or do anything for herself.
I listened to her rant for a while, and then I said, "Well, maybe you should stop doing some of those things."
She looked at me like I was crazy.
"Stop doing some of those things?" she asked.
"Like what?"
"Like cooking and cleaning," I said.
"You could order takeout or get a cleaning service."
She thought about it for a minute.
"I guess that could work," she said.
"But what would I do with all my free time?"
I smiled.
"That's the best part," I said.
"You can do whatever you want."

My friend is not the only one who struggles with this.
We all have a lot of demands on our time, and it can be hard to know how to prioritize.
But the truth is, we all need to make time for ourselves. We all need time to relax, to recharge, and to do the things that we enjoy.
If we don't, we'll burn out. We'll become stressed, overwhelmed, and unhappy.
So make some time for yourself today. Do something you enjoy. You deserve it.

What are you waiting for?

  • Go for a walk.
  • Read a book.
  • Take a nap.
  • Call a friend.
  • Do something creative.
  • Just relax and enjoy the moment.

You'll be glad you did.
