The Creative Kids Program launched by the NSW government is a great way for the kids to develop a diverse set of creative skills. Activities ranging from drawing to cultural, the kids are bound to learn something new each day. However, there is an eligibility criteria that needs to be followed.
Who is eligible for the Creative Kids Voucher?
The eligibility criteria for the Creative Kids voucher is pretty simple and straightforward. The program aims to enroll children aged 4.5 to 18 years that are enrolled in kindergarten upto year 12. The kids need to have a MediCare number while applying for the voucher. If the MediCare number is not available then the parents, careers or guardians will have to first apply for that as well. Once received, they can then apply for the voucher. In addition to that, the program also allows kids that are homeschooled or in secondary school education to enroll as well. Plus, every kid gets to have one voucher until the year 2022. Lastly, a family can apply for as many vouchers based on the number of kids. However, they should first ensure that they comply with pre-requisites set by the program.
What if my kid does not have a Medicare card?
The MediCare card is a type of assurance that your kid is able to get enrolled in the program. It is one of the requirements set by the program and if you do not happen to have one, the parents, careers or guardians are first required to apply for the MediCare number as mentioned previously. This will validate the age and number of the kid. In addition to that, if the kid turns 18 and is enrolled in the school at the time of registration, they are allowed to redeem their voucher only for that season. Furthermore, a student is also allowed to claim his/her voucher until the day they turn 19 years old.
Why is my voucher being declined?
It is possible that some applicants may have their Creative Kids voucher declined. If that is the case, then you should know that either the service provider is not registered to the program or the classes are at full capacity. It might also be due to the insufficient numbers not allowing the service providers to continue with the services. In addition to that, if the voucher has been accepted and the service provider is not able to proceed with providing the services, then the voucher needs to be returned to the parent, provided that no payment request was made by the provider to Service NSW.
Can a provider increase prices or fee?
The service providers are prohibited to increase their prices or charge different prices to different customers. It needs to be mentioned that the Creative Kids team considers it a serious offence and can audit the increase in fees at any time. Additionally, a fee would be deemed unreasonable if it is warranted in the absence of a voucher program.
