Early life and career
Joe Daniher was born in Melbourne, Victoria on 4 March 1994. He is the son of Anthony Daniher, a dual Brownlow Medalist, and brother of Darcy Daniher, who also played AFL football. Daniher attended Xavier College, where he played football and basketball. He was recruited to the Essendon Football Club with the 10th pick in the 2012 AFL draft under the father-son rule.
Daniher made his AFL debut in Round 1 of the 2013 season against the Carlton Football Club. He kicked two goals in the match and quickly became a regular member of the Essendon team. In 2015, Daniher kicked 62 goals for the season and was named in the All-Australian team. He followed this up with another strong season in 2016, kicking 55 goals and winning the Crichton Medal as Essendon's best and fairest player.
In 2017, Daniher had his best season to date, kicking 65 goals and winning the Crichton Medal for a second time. He was also named in the All-Australian team and was considered one of the best key forwards in the AFL. However, Daniher's 2018 season was disrupted by injury, and he only managed to play 12 games.
In 2019, Daniher played 17 games and kicked 31 goals. He was again named in the All-Australian team, but his season was cut short by a groin injury. In 2020, Daniher requested a trade to the Brisbane Lions, where he has continued to play at a high level.

Joe Daniher is a key forward who is known for his marking ability, strong physique, and accurate kicking. He is also a good athlete for his size, and he can run and jump well. Daniher is a dangerous target in the forward line, and he is able to kick goals from both inside and outside the 50-metre arc.
Personal life Joe Daniher is married to Kate Revell. They have two children together. Daniher is also a qualified personal trainer.
