Early life and career
Simmons was born in Suwanee, Georgia. He attended Collins Hill High School, where he played football and basketball. He was a highly sought-after recruit and committed to the University of Boston College to play college football.
At Boston College, Simmons was a four-year starter at safety. He was named to the All-ACC team three times and was a consensus All-American in his senior year.
NFL career
Simmons was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He quickly became a starter and has been one of the best safeties in the NFL ever since.
In 2019, Simmons was named to his first Pro Bowl. He was also named a Second Team All-Pro.
In 2020, Simmons was named to his second Pro Bowl. He was also named a First Team All-Pro.
