Who is Morgan Geekie?

Morgan Geekie is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays as a forward for the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the third round, 83rd overall, of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
Geekie was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, and played his junior hockey with the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He had a breakout season in 2016–17, scoring 40 goals and 83 points in 72 games. He was named to the WHL First All-Star Team and was awarded the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy as the WHL's Rookie of the Year.
Geekie made his NHL debut with the Hurricanes in 2018–19. He played in 53 games that season, scoring 5 goals and 12 points. He also played in 11 games for the Hurricanes' AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers, scoring 2 goals and 5 points.
Geekie was traded to the Seattle Kraken in 2021. He played in 47 games for the Kraken in 2021–22, scoring 9 goals and 17 points. He also played in 10 games for the Kraken's AHL affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds, scoring 3 goals and 6 points.
Geekie is a skilled offensive player with a good shot and playmaking ability. He is also a solid skater and defender. He is expected to play a top-six role for the Kraken in 2022–23.
