Why I'm Still Scared to Drink Coffee

I remember the first time I had coffee. I was sitting at my kitchen table, my mother nervously watching me as I took my first sip from a small blue mug. The bitter taste filled my mouth, and I quickly grimaced.

“Here, add some sugar,” my mother said, handing me a small spoon. I did as she said, and the sweetness helped to mask the bitterness, but I still didn’t like it. I took a few more sips, but I couldn’t finish the cup.

Over the years, I’ve tried coffee again and again, but I’ve never been able to acquire a taste for it. I’ve tried it black, with milk, with sugar, with cream, but I just can’t seem to get over the bitterness.

I’m not the only one who feels this way. In fact, a recent study found that 60% of Americans don’t like coffee. That’s a lot of people who are missing out on the supposed benefits of coffee, such as increased energy and focus.

But I’m not giving up. I know that there are people who love coffee, and I’m determined to find a way to enjoy it myself. If you’re like me and you don’t like coffee, don’t despair. There are plenty of other ways to get your caffeine fix.

After trying it this many times, I have reached the conclusion that no matter what, I think I will never acquired the taste of coffee.
