Puritans vs. Witches

Between February 1692 - May 1693 the Salem Witch Trials has began. The Puritans believe strongly of witches and the Satan his self. Over 150 people was arrested and imprisoned, with even more accused but not formally pursued by the authorities. All twenty six who went to trial before the court were convicted . The Salem Witch Trial all started by three young ladies at the age of 9-11. The young girls seemed bored. They had nothing to do when all of the sudden a slave of their time named Tituba entertained the girls with witch craft. She poured egg whites into a glass of water and held a burning candle under it telling the girls they could see their future husband if they look close enough. The day they went to church almost everything went wrong. The girls acted of such horrible ways. They screamed and yelled, they threw things around, covering their ears when the minister preached of the lord. Then they shouted who showed them the witch craft. Tituba didnt want to admit it. Then she said a man approached her with the Devil's book. She said the names she saw but didnt say the others. Anne Putnam,Sarah Good, and Sarah Osborne were the names she called out. Every since then people has been paranoid about witches in Salem, Massachusetts. The Puritans will never again believe in witches less than they did before.
