...at that time of year when the average university lecturer is unspeakably fatigued and hallucinating about quiet days of nothingness, and ignoring mountains of marking, I travelled to Durban for a web-based interactive teaching and learning workshop, secretly dreading the anticipated boredom of yet another meeting.
I was wrong, and it was worth it. I've gained many new ideas, inspiration, and a sense of cameraderie with colleagues in a field which tends increasingly, in the 21st century, towards the competative, the cut throat and the commerical. Instead, I find myself beginning to plot in far more creative ways, and I look forward to the new year so that I can begin to play with some of my new ideas.
