Southbourne Surf Life Saving Club is a network of volunteers protecting beaches and the lives of people visiting the place.

Southbourne Surf Life Saving Club (SSLSC) was established on 1986. Their club members mostly composed of youths (Young Life Savers) who are determined and motivated to learn surf safety, basic lifesaving techniques and surf and beach sports. The club is associated with Surf Life Saving GB - an awarding body for the highest standard of Beach Lifeguard Qualification in the country. It is also the National Governing Body for Life Saving Sport. Overall, there are over 80 Surf Life Saving Clubs and 5,000 individuals who are associated to SLSGB with more joining every year.

You don’t need to have any special skills or extensive training before joining their club. Southbourne Surf Life Saving Club provides a unique service where you will be taught necessary skills and techniques to help those people in need when emergency situations arise.
