Deian Morgenthaler is a man of many talents. He's a world-renowned chef, a best-selling author, and a successful entrepreneur. But what you may not know is that he's also a bit of a prankster.
One day, while Deian was filming a cooking show, he decided to have a little fun. He was making a soufflé, and just as he was about to put it in the oven, he pulled out his cell phone and started taking pictures of it.
The other chefs in the kitchen stared at him in disbelief. "What are you doing?" they asked.
"I'm sending this to my mother-in-law," Deian replied with a mischievous grin. "She's always telling me that I can't cook. I'm going to show her that I can make a soufflé that would make even Julia Child jealous."
The chefs rolled their eyes and went back to their work. But Deian wasn't finished. He took a few more pictures of the soufflé, then opened up his email program.
"Dear Mother-in-Law," he wrote. "I'm writing to you today to let you know that I've finally mastered the art of making soufflés. I know you've always been skeptical of my cooking skills, but I'm confident that this soufflé will change your mind. It's the lightest, fluffiest, most delicious soufflé you've ever tasted.
I've attached a few pictures of the soufflé so you can see for yourself. I hope you'll give it a try. I'm sure you'll be impressed.
Love, Deian"
Deian sent the email and sat back with a satisfied smile. He couldn't wait to see his mother-in-law's reaction to his prank.
A few hours later, Deian received a reply from his mother-in-law. She wrote:
"Dear Deian,
I received your email and I have to say, I'm very impressed.
The pictures of the soufflé you sent me look absolutely delicious. I can't believe you've made such progress in your cooking skills.
I'm not sure how you did it, but you've finally convinced me that you can cook.
I'm going to make the soufflé for dinner tonight. I'm sure it will be a hit with my friends.
Thanks again for sharing your recipe with me.
Love, Mother-in-Law"
Deian chuckled to himself as he read his mother-in-law's email. His prank had worked perfectly.
