It was a dark and stormy night when Shamae Kordt decided to take a walk in the woods. She had always loved the woods, but she had never been there at night. The trees were tall and imposing, their branches reaching up to the sky like bony fingers. The wind howled through the leaves, creating a eerie sound. Shamae could feel her heart pounding in her chest.
Suddenly, Shamae heard a noise behind her. She turned around and saw a pair of glowing eyes staring at her from the darkness. She gasped and took a step back. The eyes moved closer, and Shamae could make out the shape of a large animal. It was a wolf! The wolf growled at Shamae, and she knew that she had to run. She turned and ran as fast as she could.
Shamae ran and ran, but the wolf was gaining on her. She could hear its heavy paws pounding on the ground behind her. She was starting to get tired, and she knew that she couldn't keep running forever. Just when she thought she was about to give up, she saw a light in the distance. She ran towards the light, and soon she came to a small cabin. She pounded on the door, and a moment later it was opened by an old woman.
"Can I help you, child?" the old woman asked.
"There's a wolf after me!" Shamae cried. "Please, let me in."
The old woman smiled and opened the door wider. "Come in, child. You're safe now."
Shamae stepped inside the cabin, and the old woman closed the door behind her. Shamae looked around the cabin. It was small and cozy, with a fire burning in the fireplace. The wolf was gone. Shamae sighed with relief. "Thank you," she said to the old woman. "You saved my life."
"You're welcome, child," the old woman said. "Now, come and sit by the fire. You must be cold."
Shamae sat down by the fire, and the old woman gave her a cup of hot tea. Shamae sipped her tea and told the old woman about her adventure in the woods. The old woman listened patiently, and when Shamae was finished, she said, "You're a brave girl, Shamae Kordt. Not many people would have been able to run as fast as you did."
Shamae smiled. "Thank you," she said. "I'm just glad I'm safe." Shamae stayed with the old woman for the rest of the night. In the morning, the old woman made her breakfast and then she walked Shamae back to the edge of the woods. "Be careful on your way home," the old woman said. "And don't forget, you're a brave girl." Shamae smiled and waved goodbye to the old woman. Then she turned and walked into the woods.
Shamae walked through the woods, and soon she came to the place where she had seen the wolf. She stopped and looked around. The wolf was gone. Shamae smiled. She was safe now. She continued on her way, and soon she was home.
Shamae told her parents about her adventure in the woods. They were very proud of her for being so brave. Shamae was glad that she had escaped from the wolf, but she also knew that she would never forget her night in the woods. It was an adventure that she would cherish forever.
