If you know Yumie Extremo, then you know she's a bit of a klutz. She's always tripping over her feet, bumping into things, and spilling her coffee. But one incident stands out as the most embarrassing of all.
It was a beautiful summer day, and Yumie was walking home from work. She was feeling happy and carefree, and she was humming a little tune to herself. As she walked, she noticed a group of children playing in the street. She smiled at them and waved, and they waved back.
Yumie continued walking, and as she passed the children, she tripped over a crack in the sidewalk. She fell hard, and her coffee cup went flying out of her hand. The coffee spilled all over her clothes, and she let out a shriek of embarrassment.
The children stared at her, their eyes wide with surprise. Yumie scrambled to her feet and tried to brush herself off. But the coffee had stained her clothes, and she knew she looked like a mess.
"Are you okay?" one of the children asked.
Yumie nodded, even though she was mortified. "I'm fine," she said. "Just a little clumsy."
The children giggled, and Yumie couldn't help but laugh along with them. She knew she looked ridiculous, but she didn't care. She was just glad that she hadn't hurt herself.
Yumie continued walking home, and as she walked, she thought about what had happened. She realized that it was okay to be clumsy. Everyone makes mistakes. And besides, it had given her a good laugh.
When Yumie got home, she told her husband about what had happened. He laughed and told her that she was lucky she hadn't broken anything. Yumie laughed too, and she realized that she was actually proud of herself for not letting her embarrassment get to her.
The next day, Yumie went back to the place where she had fallen. She wanted to see if she could find the crack in the sidewalk that had tripped her. But when she got there, she couldn't find it. She looked all around, but it was as if the crack had disappeared.
Yumie was puzzled. She knew she hadn't imagined falling. But if there was no crack in the sidewalk, then what had she tripped over?
Yumie never found out what had caused her to fall. But she didn't really care. The important thing was that she was okay. And besides, she had a good story to tell.
Moral of the story: Don't be afraid to laugh at yourself. Everyone makes mistakes. And besides, it's good for you.
