Zuma accident: A tale of luck, shock and fresh paint

I got into a car accident last week. It wasn't my fault, but that's not the point. The point is, I'm okay. I'm physically unharmed, and I'm eternally grateful for that. Here's how it all happened.

I was driving home from work when I stopped at a red light. I glanced a mirror and saw an old grey Toyota hurtling toward me. I thought, "They're gonna hit me," and then WHAM! I was bracing myself for the worst, but it never came.

The impact was strong, but my car was a solid tank. It only got a couple of scratches. The Toyota, on the other hand, was totaled. I got out of my car and ran to the other driver. He was shaken, but okay. I helped him get out of his car, and we exchanged information.

The police came and took our statements. They said the other driver was at fault for running the red light. I was just glad that we were both okay. I mean, it could have been so much worse.

After the police left, I drove home. I was still a little shaken, but I was okay. I went inside and hugged my wife. I was so grateful to be alive.

The next day, I took my car to get fixed. The body shop did a great job, and my car looks brand new. I'm so glad that I got into an accident with a Toyota and not a semi-truck.

I'm not sure why I'm sharing this story. Maybe I just wanted to get it off my chest. Or maybe I wanted to remind people that life is precious. Whatever the reason, I'm glad I'm okay. And I'm grateful for the fresh paint on my car.
